Migraines in Pregnancy

While most migraine medications are not safe to take in pregnancy, there are some natural remedies that can drastically reduce the number of headaches and the severity. A lot of natural remedy focuses on prevention. To prevent migraines it’s helpful to do the following 1) Drink plenty of water. Start your day with a fresh glass of water before you eat anything else. 2) Take magnesium and co-enzyme Q10. Both of these supplements, when taken on a daily basis can help drastically reduce migraine headaches and are safe in pregnancy. 3) When you feel the headache coming on soak in an epsom salt bath. Epsom salt has electrolytes that calm the nervous system, a key when trying to get to the root of migraines.
